Global Trade Bureau: Customs Brokers
When you’re running an international business, the smooth transition of your goods from and into the UK couldn’t be more important.

Your goods not only need to arrive, they must arrive without delay.

However, the UK leaving the EU has introduced some additional formalities. For instance, the requirement to complete customs declarations – and with that, new obligations for reporting to HMRC. But the process can actually be simplified depending on your trading requirements – saving you both time and money.

Global Trade Bureau is a team of customs agents who assess your business’ customs clearance needs and recommend and help design the right customs processes for you. They also take care of your customs declarations and filing requirements when your goods arrive at the border, and, with the ability to review your end-to-end process, they will help keep your business moving.

"The Deloitte Customs Bureau continue to deliver an invaluable support service to WHSmith’s supply chain, providing timely and accurate import declarations to ease the flow of goods through our UK ports and minimising delays. The team are always excellent at responding to tight deadlines (provided at very short notice) and are a delight to work with. There is a positive “can do” attitude and a high level of proactivity that makes the service stand out vs the competition."
Ian Wiles Group Tax Manager, WHSmith

Since then, Global Trade Bureau has grown and developed into a team of over 40 customs agents who are processing thousands of import and export declarations every month.

How our customs declaration service demystifies the complex

We have the tools to analyse your organisation’s HMRC data (MSS) using our UK Trade Analytics Tool – giving you a holistic view of your UK international trade footprint whilst identifying risks and potential cost savings for your business.

We work hand-in-hand with our Global Trade Advisory practice, helping our clients demystify the complex trade environment and manage costs because they know what to look for when reviewing your customs processing procedure.

For example, they can help you to access and optimise your use of preferential tariff treatment, reliefs and special procedures, which Global Trade Bureau can then operate on your behalf where appropriate. Find out more about our UK Trade Analytics Tool.

How our customs broker service works

We will work with you to review the viability of SCDP for your particular supply chain movements. If it is a suitable option in delivering value to your business, we will work with you to submit a request for authorisation with HMRC.
We receive notification of your shipment details and monitor the ETA of your goods whilst we’re preparing your declaration pre-arrival.
Global Trade Bureau submits the frontier declaration to HMRC once your goods arrive, facilitating clearance of your shipment at the port of arrival.
We create a customs declaration file in our Duty Management System, complete quality assurance checks and submit the Supplementary Declaration to HMRC.
You’ll have access to a management tool which records all information about your individual shipments including the Unique Consignment Reference number, the purchase order and even the total weight.
