Notes on Finance Bill resolutions
The government tabled resolutions for the Finance Bill on Thursday
20 July 2017. The government has now published updated explanatory notes on resolutions, which give a brief description of each of the Finance Bill resolutions.
Updated draft legislation published on Thursday
The second 2017 Finance Bill will legislate for policies that have already been announced.
For a small number of clauses taking effect before the Bill is introduced, technical adjustments and additions to the previous legislation will be made to ensure that the clauses function as intended. The government has published updated draft clauses for these provisions.
To provide maximum certainty for taxpayers, the government has also provided a list of all provisions that will continue to apply from the start of the 2017 to 2018 tax year or other point before the introduction of the forthcoming Finance Bill.
